Earlier this month, A Spice of Life was a proud host of another fabulous event in Denver. Together with Market Advisory Partners and Keri Blair Image Experts, A Spice of Life hosted a Girl’s Night Out at 910 Arts on Sante Fe. Kelli, events & bar extraordinaire for 910 Arts, mixed up chocolate martinis for over 100 of the community’s most influential women as they networked and enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Spice. The festivities also included a raffle for great prizes, like gift certificates for A Spice of Life and Market Advisory Partners, as well as a fashion show. The event was as philanthropic as it was fun- donations were made to Free the Girls, a non-profit organization that provides job opportunities to women rescued from sex trafficking.

A Spice of Life’s personalized approach lets you take your ideas and personal tastes and turn them into the event extraordinaire that your guests deserve. “We take great pride in making everyone who attends feel like a VIP,” Toney says. With a crew of up to 120 caterers at the ready, A Spice of Life can manage even the largest event with style and grace. We appreciate their commitment as a Zero Waste community partner and their support of many worthy organizations throughout Boulder County. “We enjoy the wide variety of events we have the pleasure of catering and look forward to serving you soon,” Toney says.
This week, A Spice of Life had the unique opportunity to create an innovative farm-to-table menu while also benefiting the local artist community. On Saturday the 17th, the Lyons Farmette hosted the Plein Air Art Show to benefit the Boulder County Arts Alliance and the Lyons Arts and Humanities Council. Over forty local artists showcased rural scenes of Colorado summer, and guests were treated to unique hors d’oeuvres from A Spice of Life.
Spice’s Chef de Cuisine Pieter Dijkstra and co-owner Dan Bruckner visited the Farmette on Wednesday to explore and garner inspiration for the event’s menu. The menu included a trio of crostini featuring ingredients like garlic braised rainbow chard, grilled eggplant and marjoram, and baby tomato and basil with housemade ricotta. Other items that the artists and guests enjoyed were beet Carpaccio and apples wrapped with nasturtium leaf, onion and thyme frittata with crème fraiche and stuffed cherry tomatoes with mustard green pesto and garlic breadcrumbs.
The creative, farm fresh food was a perfect complement to the Plein Air art and the scenery of the Farmette, and A Spice of Life was happy to be a part of an event that featured so many local local artists and community members.

A Spice of Life proudly announces our Farm to Table menu program. In addition to our regular menus, we now offer a monthly menu comprised of ingredients that are all sourced locally.
Farm to Table philosophy is a growing movement that supports a sustainable approach to community, agriculture and dining. By supporting local farmers, money is infused back into the local economy, and the ingredients used are at the peak of ripeness and freshness.
For years, many of us here at Spice have shopped for our families and for ourselves at farmers markets and have belonged to Community Supported Agriculture programs during the summer. With the growing popularity of the Farm to Table movement, more products are becoming available in larger quantities. This has allowed us to offer these menus for events of any size, not just small gatherings.
If Farm to Table makes as much sense to you as it does to us but the menu doesn’t quite suit your tastes, we’d be happy to create a custom menu with you. All of us here at Spice are extremely excited about this and hope that you all will join the movement and support your local farms at your next event.

Last Sunday morning during the Lyons Outdoor Games, A Spice of Life and Leave-No-Trace were hard at work cleaning up the St. Vrain River. Fifty volunteers scoured the riverbanks and bike paths starting at the east side of town and ending at Meadow Park, where their hard work was rewarded with a delectable breakfast provided by A Spice of Life. This is the fifth year that Leave-No-Trace and Spice have partnered to make the community a more beautiful and a more tasty place.
We’d like to thank all the volunteers who devoted their Sunday morning to a great cause.
