A 1920s Scottish-style castle on a 3,441-acre working ranch and conservation property in Sedalia, with a Great Hall, front courtyard, back terrace, a seasonal draped Veranda Tent and a Picnic House. It hosts weddings, corporate meetings, executive retreats and private celebrations for 20 to 150 guests, with docent-led castle tours available for guests.
A Spice of Life has catered 7 events at Cherokee Ranch & Castle since April 2024, weddings first, with private celebrations alongside. The busiest stretch for us here has been summer. Kathy is our Event Specialist for Cherokee Ranch & Castle and knows the load-in, the kitchen, and the timing the room needs. Cherokee Ranch & Castle lists A Spice of Life among the caterers it works with, which shortens the first conversation: the venue already knows our trucks, our staff, and how we leave a room. The venue publishes capacity of 150 seated; we size service style to that, and a buffet or stations needs more floor than a plated dinner for the same count. Indoor and outdoor space both come into play, so the timeline carries a weather call and we stage food where it stays hot either way. Load-in: Property accessible by reservation or appointment only; 5-hour minimum booking; commercial general liability insurance and a security detail are required; no smoking or vaping. Alcohol: The Castle holds the liquor license; all alcohol is ordered from the Castle. No outside alcohol is permitted.
