A holiday party needs a room that can hold a bar, a buffet, and a hundred people who want to talk to each other. These are the venues between Boulder and Denver where A Spice of Life has run December parties, with what we learned each time.
Flow first. The bar should be reachable from the door without crossing the buffet line, and the buffet should be two-sided when the headcount passes 80. A room with a second space, a mezzanine, a patio with heaters, a side gallery, gives the quieter half of your company somewhere to go. And the load-in matters more in December than any other month: a venue where we can stage hot food near the room means dinner arrives hot at 7:30, not 7:05.
Museums and event centers are the reliable answer for 150 to 300: Wings Over the Rockies and Asterisk in Denver, the PACE Center in Parker, and the Chateaux at Fox Meadows in Broomfield have all held company-wide parties we catered. For 50 to 120, Boulder's own rooms, Rembrandt Yard, the Boulder JCC, the Dairy Arts Center, keep the evening close to where people work.
A named Event Specialist who has worked the room, staff who set up and break down while your team is still saying goodbye, bar service where the venue allows it, and a menu written for standing and talking, not for balancing a plate. Guest counts change in December; we plan for that.

The Koenig Alumni Center is the historic former university president's residence at University and Broadway on the CU Boulder campus, renting its first floor plus a 2,200 sq ft fenced backyard with a gazebo, wraparound porch and Flatirons views. Two all-season tents extend the garden for dinners and dancing, and the house hosts weddings, rehearsal dinners, retreats, memorials, alumni gatherings and business meetings.

The Boulder JCC's Levin Hall is a 4,000 sq ft event room with a built-in stage, window walls facing the Flatirons and a partially covered patio with a fireplace, backed by a licensed commercial kitchen that can be run kosher on request. Smaller meeting rooms are also available, and the venue hosts weddings, b'nai mitzvah, galas, conferences and community events.

Asterisk is a renovated 1920s post-office garage at the Broadway/Park Avenue/Arapahoe intersection in downtown Denver, with an 8,500 sq ft main hall under steel trusses and skylights plus a 1,700 sq ft rooftop patio and a small boardroom. It hosts corporate events, nonprofit galas, weddings, product launches, tradeshows and photo shoots, with a capacity chart by configuration for each space.

Rembrandt Yard is a two-floor, 6,500 sq ft working art gallery a block off Pearl Street with floor-to-ceiling windows toward the Flatirons, a central fountain, an outdoor cocktail courtyard and balconies. It hosts weddings, corporate events, nonprofit galas, social celebrations and celebrations of life, with in-house furniture, basic AV and day-of coordination.

A log-and-stone lakefront hall on Evergreen Lake run by the park and recreation district, with a Great Room seating 200 around a stone fireplace, a smaller Octagon Room often used for buffets, and a deck facing the water that seats 100 for ceremonies. It is rented year-round for weddings, meetings and community events with a district staff member on duty.

A four-acre working flower farm on the St. Vrain at the edge of Lyons, with a creekside ceremony site and a 2,500-square-foot climate-controlled barn for receptions. The Farmette hosts weddings, rehearsal dinners, farm dinners, workshops, and corporate and private gatherings for up to 125 guests.

The Longmont Museum is a city-run museum and cultural center whose rentable spaces include the 250-seat Stewart Auditorium, the Swan Atrium, the Kaiser C classroom and an outdoor courtyard. Foothills Community Park is a large north Boulder park at Cherry Avenue and Broadway, next door to Growing Gardens, with three reservable picnic shelters (A, B and C, 50 people each), restrooms, playgrounds, multi-use fields, pickleball courts and a dog park. Groups reserve one, two or all three shelters depending on size, and it is one of four city parks approved for food trucks.

VUE/boulder is a new rooftop event venue in The Annex at 1603 Walnut Street near Pearl Street, with 2,853 square feet indoors and a 2,743 square foot rooftop facing the Flatirons. Set to open in fall 2026, it is designed for weddings, corporate events, galas, mitzvahs and milestone celebrations for up to 150 seated or 200 standing, with clients bringing their own caterer from a preferred list.
